๐ฆ COVID-19, and other updates
I can count myself amongst the lucky; I'm still healthy, employed and able to work full time. Nobody that I know of is seriously ill. Our family did have a small preview of what isolation could be like last week. The three of us isolated after being notified about a potential exposure at QCon London; we panicked a little.
When you speak to people, there is so much uncertainty. It's no wonder that people are hoarding; nobody knows what to expect next. The speed which the situation has escalated has been difficult to comprehend. Two weeks ago COVID-19 was something that was happening elsewhere. Now we are shutting everything down, shaking the magic money tree to the tune of ยฃ330 billion and waiting for a cure which could be a year and a half away.
Our offices closed yesterday, though people have been working from home since last week. I have no complaints on this front thus far. I no longer experience an 11ยฝ hour working day. I'm getting time to spend with my family that I haven't had for a very long time. It's going to take some further adjusting to, but I am feeling positive about it.
Hobbies and Stuff
๐ฒ D&D - Going Virtual
We've just scheduled our first virtual tabletop session for D&D this weekend. Our group plan on using Roll20.net and D&D Beyond for our sessions. We have our characters imported into D&D beyond already, and a browser extension alledges to integrate the two nicely.
๐ฎ Gaming
I've found time to play some Factorio with a couple of friends โ multiple times in a week ๐ฑ. I've also been dabbling with Surviving Mars, watching some really good playthroughs on YouTube. It was one of those games I picked up for free on the Epic Store, though I might actually need to buy some of the DLC.
๐ Painting
Finally, I painted some of my Necromunda barricades. I'm not entirely pleased with the result yet, but to be fair these are practice pieces working toward actually painting my gang miniatures;
